Bulgarian Wine Tour - Guided Coach Tour
Why not combine rich cultural experience with tasting some of the finest Bulgarian wines? Over the last several decades, Bulgaria has successfully evolved to a refined source of world-class red wine. This region is characterised by two large sun-drenched areas, with Danubian Plain to the north and Thracian Lowlands to the south. Bulgaria's winemaking has largely been transformed not only by the investment in modern technologies, but also by replanting of vineyards that are generously subsidised by the EU. As a result, new family-run and corporate wineries are popping up across the country, with great new generation of winemakers re-emerging from post-socialist era.Today, Bulgaria has more than 150 wineries producing fantastic signature grapes like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, but also Mavrud and Gamza - indigenous varieties that make well-flavoured red wines with generous fresh, bright fruit and good acidity. This fascinating tour is designed to acquaint you with Bulgaria’s superb wine and most significant historical sites by visiting the popular wine regions and wineries.
