Supetar is situated on the north side of the island of Brac, one of the most attractive Middle Dalmatian islands and is connected with Split by a ferry line. With it's position and function as a transit city it offers unforgettable welcome to everyone who comes here. The ancient Supetar, from the early Christian period, was founded on the peninsula of S. Nikola, protector of the fishermen and sailors and was built in the cove of St Peter by which it obtained its name. It is considered today as one of the main tourist centres with its numerous cultural monuments, various sports and recreation centres.
