Balkan Holidays is the specialist tour operator to Eastern Europe with 43 years experience. We are currently expanding our Reservations Department and seeking experienced Reservation Consultants.

The main duties will be to sell holidays over the telephone to both travel agents and direct clients and assisting with any pre-departure queries our valued clients may have.

This role requires a commercially focused manger who will be responsible for expanding our current product range, focusing on revenue and profit generation through strategic business development. You will source new trends in the market, conduct relevant research and analysis, then create, contract and plan the programme before bringing it to market. You will have proven experience of managing a product in an offline and online environment as well as working to tight deadlines. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in Business Development of a tour operator or travel industry supplier as well as strong communication and presentation skills and strong commercial awareness.

Proven track record in the E-commerce field mainly in the Travel sector with projects and actual implementations.

At least 2 years experience with website framework development with the following technologies: Java/J2EE (JDBC,JSP,Servlets), STRUTS, MVC, J2SE, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, XML, SAX, CSS, (AJAX and Spring would be a plus).

Operating systems, databases and web/applicaition servers installation, upgrade and tuning for: Red Hat, SUSE, Tomcat, Apache web server, MySQL, SQL Server, (experience with Oracle would be a plus). Load testing with: JUnit or similar systems.

Experience with Travel Reservations systems will be extremely useful.

Main tasks will be to develop and maintain web framework architecture for several websites, also of Java based in-house applications like content-management and other applications. Come up with new ideas in the E-commerce field to improve
current web sites and on-line sales channels and being able to implement those changes.

We are looking for an innovative, creative and experienced Online Marketing Executive to develop and implement our online marketing and web strategy, to be responsible for the web development & content management, devising alternative website strategies and designs to drive conversion & margin improvements and to maximize sales. You must provide analytical support and analysis to maximize ROI and to improve our marketing campaigns, productivity and success. You must have previous experience in PPC, SEO, Affiliates campaigns and excellent computer skills and technical knowledge such as HTML, Dreamweaver is required and at least two years experience in a similar position is required.
