Day 1 Sunday: Dubrovnik
Transfer from Dubrovnik airport to your allocated tour hotel. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik Riviera area.
Day 2 Monday: Dubrovnik - Mostar - Sarajevo
Morning departure to Mostar, the city of bridges, where western travellers catch first glimpses of the continent beyond. There is a guided walk of the Old Town and free time for lunch. Departure for Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina. With turbulent and vibrant history, Sarajevo is one of the most interesting cities in Europe. This is the place where the Western & Eastern Roman Empire were split and where the population of the Orthodox East, the Ottoman South and the Roman Catholic West interacted for centuries. City tour of Sarajevo upon arrival. Dinner and overnight in Sarajevo area.
Day 3 Tuesday: Sarajevo - Osijek - Vukovar
Morning departure to Osijek, the largest city of Eastern Croatia, beautifully nested on the banks of the river Drava. Osijek remains a popular tourist destination for its Baroque style, open spaces and thriving gastronomy. We continue towards Vukovar, the largest Croatian river port situated at the confluence of the river Vuka and the mighty Danube. The town is also known as a symbol of the Croatian war for independence. Dinner and overnight in Vukovar area.
Day 4 Wednesday: Vukovar – Zagreb
Morning departure to Djakovo. The first thing to be seen on the approach from either side is the brightness of burgundy bricks of the two imposing towers of the Cathedral, proudly standing in the centre. After the visit, we depart towards Zagreb briefly stopping at the museum village of Stara Kapela for a snack. Upon arrival to Croatia's capital Zagreb, there is sightseeing tour of the historic city centre, Upper Town fortifications reached by funicular, famous St.Mark’s church, Croatian National Theatre and the University. Overnight in Zagreb area.
Day 5 Thursday: Zagreb - Plitvice - Trogir - Split
Morning departure to Plitvice National Park, a natural phenomenon of rare and unique beauty and a well known UNESCO World Heritage site. We tour 16 crystal clear lakes cascading into 92 spectacular waterfalls. Walking on the wooden promenades offers magnificent views of the waters and breathtaking scenery. We continue towards Split with a short sightseeing break in yet another UNESCO protected site, the medieval town of Trogir. Arrival to Split. Dinner and overnight in Split area.
Day 6 Friday: Split - Dubrovnik
After breakfast, there is a guided tour of Split uncovering the secrets of UNESCO-protected Diocletian’s Palace (dating back to from the 3rd/4th century), the Peristyle, Jupiter’s Temple and the Cathedral. Departure for Dubrovnik driving along the newly bulit Dalmatina highway weaving through Adriatic's hinterland. Upon arrival to Dubrovnik, the last UNESCO's pearl on our tour, we visit the Old Town, smart cobbled stone promenade and the Cathedral (no entrance to the Treasury). Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik area.
Day 7 Saturday: Dubrovnik
Enjoy the full day at your leisure, relaxing on beautiful pebble beaches, explore famous Old Town walls, or join one of the many optional excursions to the surrounding areas. Overnight in Dubrovnik area.
Day 8 Sunday: Dubrovnik
Transfer to Dubrovnik Airport for homeward journey or hotel of your choice for a second week.
