Established by the Greeks as a colony 5 centuries ago under the Romans and their successors, the Slavs, Varna has become a major port trading with Constantinople, Venice and Dubrovnik. Successor to ancient civilisations, survivor of the transformations of time, the present-day city of Varna is one of the most attractive Bulgarian towns, the Pearl of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast - as it is called for good reasons. Varna Holidays are suitable for those looking to stay near the sea side yet have full access to the city and the many night clubs and bars as well as great shopping malls.
Nowadays it is the main port for both naval and commercial shipping and, as it is near the coastal resorts of Golden Sands, St. Konstantin and Albena, it has a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Sailors on shore-leave in unfamiliar ceremonial uniforms, mingle with foreign tourists and locals as they promenade along shady boulevards, lined by dignified 19th and early 20th century buildings.
Undoubtly the best place to be during your Varna holiday in the summer eve is the Varna sea park stretching all over the long sandy beach, with all its open-air cafes and restaurants, as well the range of discos on clubs on the beach.

Thank you so much for providing such a great family skiing holiday in Pamporovo, Bulgaria in March of this year. We travelled with Balkan Holidays on 23 March and stayed at the Hotel Orlovetz and had a fantastic holiday.
It was the first time we had booked with Balkan after being recommended to you by a neighbour and I can assure you we will be booking with you again next year.
This ski holiday was the first time we had skied with our children, aged 8 and 5, and we were impressed with the arrangements you had in place to cater for them as they had a ball. Our ski instructor 'Denko' was just fantastic and made the days and lessons great fun and enjoyable. The staff in ski hire shop were always helpful and last but not least Ellie in the Kindergarten was just great with our daughter Sienna when she wasn't skiing. We genuinely felt the Balkan team at Pamporovo went out of their way to be helpful and wanted us to have a great holiday.
Acknowledgement must also go to our hard working hotel representative Danko and Salvie who again are both a credit to your company. They went out of their way to provide information and advice and were just what you would hope a representative would be.
We have only ever skied in France previously but really feel Bulgaria has so much to offer and we look forward to visiting again.
We were originally booked into Hotel Pamporovo but you had to change our hotel as it was the end of season and I am so glad this happened as on reflection Hotel Orlovetz was just fantastic and worth in future paying that little bit more in terms of what they provided.
We have recommended Balkan Holiday to friends who weren't sure about Bulgaria but who I am sure will now consider based on our recent experience. Hopefully we will be going back to Pamporovo with Balkan next year so keep up the great work.

Hi, just wanted to say my friend and I stayed at the Boomerang Hotel, Sunny Beach 2 weeks ago and would like to let you know our rep Ros, was brilliant. We don't usually book trips through reps, rather choose to look for ourselves in resort but he wasn't 'pushy' at all and because of that, we did book one with him. He's a credit to Balkan Holidays.
