Pamporovo is set high among the Rhodope Mountain in southern Bulgaria, a beautiful region, said to have once been the home of Orpheus, set amongst magnificent pine forests at a height of 1,620 metres. It is tailor-made for skiing with its 35 kms of marked ski runs, including the a new 7km long run and 38 kilometers of cross country tracks. A great choice of nursery slopes make this a great resort for beginners and after mastering the nursery slopes, there are plenty of easy and scenic runs higher up the mountain. For the more intermediate skier and snowboarder there are plenty of red runs that are excellent and a great place to practice and improve your technique. While the more advanced skier will no doubt enjoy the “The Wall” the famous World Cup Downhill run. Pamporovo is great for snowboarding as the nursery slopes are suitable for perfecting the techniques you can later exhibit on the slopes further up the mountain!
