Yesterday was a landmark day for the city of Varna as the new passenger terminal at Varna Airport on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast came in to full use, 12 days after its official opening. As of 3pm, all arrivals and departures began passing through the new terminal, announced by the airport on its website. A new project introduced with funds by the Sozopol municipality was launched earlier this month which provides all guests to Sozopol with free internet access across the popular seaside resort. The company which maintains the service reported that after only a few hours after the service was introduced, 1150 people had already used it. The WiFi service starts from the old town in Sozopol through to the Budzhaka district and many tourists are already enjoying the opportunity to message, call and email friends and family whilst enjoying their summer holiday, free of charge. Some great news arrived in the form of cranes and diggers this week in Pamporovo as construction began on a brand new lift facility due to be completed before the start of the upcoming winter season. The new 4-seated lift was announced by executive director of Pamporovo AD Mr. Marian Belyakov and the total cost of the project is expected to be around the 3.5m Euro mark (£3m). According to a recent study conducted by TripAdvisor, Sofia, Bulgaria tops the list as one of the cheapest places to go if you are looking for a great value city break. Of the 49 cities worldwide included in the study, the Bulgarian capital offered the best deal for a one-night stay in a four-star hotel.
