Travel Updates & FAQs

ON ARRIVAL AT YOUR DESTINATION

As you make your way off the aircraft try to maintain a safe distance between you and the other passengers where possible. At Bourgas Airport the aircraft may park on a remote stand and it could be necessary to take a shuttle bus to the terminal. Please follow all local rules whilst on the territory of the airport. Keep your proof of vaccination or negative PCR test handy to show it as you pass through the border security. If you have any issues you can contact us on arrival in Bulgaria via the number on your documentation or view our support page at the following link:

WILL THERE BALKAN HOLIDAYS REPS TO MEET ME AT THE AIRPORT?

In almost all cases there will be Balkan Holidays Reps to meet you once you clear the baggage collection area. At Bourgas Airport we have a desk with the Balkan Holidays branding and our representatives should be close by unless they are dealing with other issues.  We would encourage only one member of your party to approach the representatives in order to avoid queues of people and to make the process to the coach much quicker. You will have 24/7 access to your representative via the WhatsApp number on your documentation.
In Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro you will be met by a member of the local ground handling agency who will have Balkan Holidays branding who will direct you to your transfer.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR HOTEL AND IN YOUR DESTINATION

Hotels may have restrictions or closures (without prior notice) in place in the restaurants, fitness, sauna, spa centres and common areas. Please abide with the local rules at all times. Your representative will have reduced face to face time with you but they are available 24/7 via the WhatsApp number that will be on your documentation and arrival booklets and in selected hotels and ski depots (times advertised on noticeboards and in folders).

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR HOLIDAY

Travelling to our destinations at present is a lot different than we have become used to. Your safety and enjoyment are our main priority on all of our holidays. We have put together all the relevant information in one place so you can easily navigate all the information for your holiday.

We would advise you at all times to ensure the following:
  • Maintain social distance of at least 1.5m (2 m recommended).
  • Wear a face mask covering your mouth and nose in all indoor areas and when social distance of at least 1.5m is not possible.
  • Make sure you approach food buffets and bars always having your masks put on regardless of whether you will be served by a member of staff or it is a self-service.
  • In some hotels you will be required to put disposable gloves on when serving from the buffet.
  • Always have a mask on when using lifts and the gondola.
  • Maintain good personal and respiratory hygiene. Hands should be frequently washed using hot water and soap for at least 40 seconds and disinfected by hydroalcoholic gel. When coughing or sneezing a disposable tissue must be used or if such is not available mouth and nose should be covered by the inner part of the elbow.
  • Avoid physical contact with other people like handshakes, hugging, kissing, etc.
Take time to familiarize yourself with the hotel Covid-19 measures, which should be displayed in the public areas like reception, restaurant, lifts, spa and fitness, kid’s clubs etc.

RETURNING HOME

Approximately 48hrs prior to your departure from the resort your representative will post the departure times on either the noticeboard in your hotel or in the folder at the reception. Please do not be surprised if the coach is a little late as traffic can be heavy and can cause the coach to run late. If your coach is 30mins late from the advertised pick-up time please call the number on the noticeboard
