We are delighted to learn that our Charter Airline company Balkan Holidays Airlines (BH Air) has been chosen by the Bulgarian government as the official carrier between Bulgaria and Iraq. The cabinet has authorized the airline to fly routes as agreed in the Agreement on Air Transport between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Iraq, which was signed on the 15th November 1966 in Sofia. According to reports, the decision is expected to increase the number of passengers travelling between the two countries and boost the Bulgarian-Iraqi trade relations. Look Beyond Dubrovnik urges ABTA Published: 17 Sep 2013
As delegates from around the UK prepare to attend this year's Travel Convention hosted by Dubrovnik, ABTA has teamed up with the Croatian National Tourist Offfice to encourage the 600 delegates attending to explore more of the beautiful country during their stay. Yesterday was a landmark day for the city of Varna as the new passenger terminal at Varna Airport on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast came in to full use, 12 days after its official opening. As of 3pm, all arrivals and departures began passing through the new terminal, announced by the airport on its website. The first serviced domestic flight was to Sofia with the national carrier "Bulgaria Air" while the first international passengers served in the new Varna Airport terminal came from Minsk with the aviation company “Belavia”. From the 23rd - 25th August, the unlikely combination of summer sunshine and snowboarding will be brought to life at the Borovets Street Festival 2013. A new project introduced with funds by the Sozopol municipality was launched earlier this month which provides all guests to Sozopol with free internet access across the popular seaside resort. The company which maintains the service reported that after only a few hours after the service was introduced, 1150 people had already used it. The WiFi service starts from the old town in Sozopol through to the Budzhaka district and many tourists are already enjoying the opportunity to message, call and email friends and family whilst enjoying their summer holiday, free of charge.
