It’s not all history though as there’s plenty of modern attractions too, so read on for our tips of the best things to see and do in Nessebar

Wonder through the old town.
If you do one thing on this list, please make sure it’s this one! Nessebar is a UNESCO Heritage Site for a very good reason. This is because it has thousands of years of history that can be witnessed as you wander through the cobbled streets. While here you can visit several churches including the Church of Christ the Pantocrator which you’ll see as you enter through the city gates. Please do take time to take in the sights and the atmosphere of this wonderful ancient city.

Walk the Promenade around Nessebar

On another day we do recommend you walk the Promenade that surrounds Nessebar. It is a very pleasant walk, especially in the early evening as the sun is setting.

Visit the Archaeological Museum
Pop in to this small but excellent museum that shows you the history of Nessebar dating back to the origin of this ancient city. There is a collection of artefacts spanning thousands of years giving you a real feel and appreciation of Nessebar.

Take a boat tour
Catch a boat from the harbour that take’s you along the stunning Black Sea coast while exploring Nessebar, Ravda, and Pomorie bays, a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

A day at Aqua Paradise
Is there a better and more fun way of cooling off than a day at an aqua park? Aqua Paradise, which is on the main road into Nessebar, has loads of swimming pools, including a wave pool and would you believe 38 water slides including the longest water slide in Europe, the space shuttle! It’s a fun day out for all the family.

A day at the Beach
Nessebar old town has a lovely beach where you can enjoy the sunshine and a dip in the cooling waters of the Black Sea.

Visit Ravadinovo Castle
This is a fairy tale castle, although we have to be honest and say it was built in the 1990s! It’s well worth a visit for the castle alone, and there’s the added bonus that it’s in a lovely setting of lakes and gardens.

Shopping!
The Old Town has a number of gift shops and market stools selling a variety of souvenirs and local crafts. It is all very good value and the local crafts are especially very good quality.
