" Thank you so much to you and your colleagues for putting together a package for us to spend three weeks at our favourite hotel, Hotel Lapad, in our favourite holiday destination, Dubrovnik, next June.
As I mentioned to you on the phone, this will be our 20th visit to this hotel with Balkan Holidays, with whom I have travelled in all for around 35 years - a friend and I used to travel to Poiana Brasov, Romania with your company in the mid-1980s and then, after the overthrow of the dictatorship there, all through the 1990s. In fact we were there in 1997 when, sadly, my father died in London and I will never forget the kindness and commonsense shown by Balkan's representative in Brasov, who (unlike our travel insurance company in England who did little to help), made arrangements for us to be taken speedily to Bucharest Airport, a three hour drive away, and collect the plane tickets he had already booked for us so we could fly back to London to be with my mother. He did far more than he had to, and I will always be grateful to him for his assistance at a difficult time.
That may be rather an extreme example of customer service, but we have always found Balkan Holidays to be a company that, unlike other, much bigger travel companies, treats its clients as individuals, and always gets the balance right. We love the way that your resort representatives are always readily available if anyone needs them, but if not leave people alone and are never in anyone's face trying to sell excursions if that isn't what they want.
The Year 2020 is a special one for us personally, and we are really looking forward to the holiday we have just booked with you for June next year. Well done Balkan Holidays for sorting this out for us without fuss, and we look forward to many many more Balkan holidays to Dubrovnik and, hopefully, to other countries close by in the years ahead.. "
