Baba Marta is known as 'Grandma March Day' and is a holiday celebrated in Bulgaria on the 1st day of March. Bulgarians wear an item called a Martenitsa, usually in the form of a wrist band which is woven by binding red and white coloured threads together. The Martenitsa are not only worn on the day to celebrate the holiday but also through the month of March until a stork or a bloomed tree is seen which symbolizes warmer weather and good health. London, 8th January 2020   Balkan Holidays have confirmed an expansion for ski holidays to Slovenia, with immediate effect. Balkan Holidays has added flights and two hotels to their package holiday programme to Slovenia. Adding flights to the country via Salzburg, Austria, Balkan Holidays now provide flights from 11 airports for winter. Whilst transfers will be longer than via Slovenia’s main gateway of Ljubljana, they will be 2.5 hours to Kranjska Gora via Salzburg.
