This week we take a look at Borovets, Bulgaria’s most popular ski resort, although Bansko, its noisy neighbour, is gaining all the time!
Set in the Rila Mountains, Borovets was originally developed for Bulgarian royalty to use almost exclusively, but thankfully these days everyone can visit and enjoy this wonderful ski resort with its soaring mountain peaks, excellent skiing and a lively apres ski scene.
Located in the Rila Mountains in south west Bulgaria, the resort itself is 1320 metres above sea level (rising to 2560 metres at its highest point), has 58kms of ski runs, 5kms of advanced or black runs and the rest are for

When we decided to add a new summer destination we had to think very carefully. We didn’t want to offer somewhere that millions of people visit every year. We wanted to offer somewhere new and different and as soon as we looked at Northern Cyprus our mind was made up, this beautiful part of this Mediterranean island has over 30 unspoilt sandy beaches lapped by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, towns and cities crammed full of ancient history and of course those hot summers where the sun shines 340 days a year!
Cyprus is split into two separate countries, the southern part is Greek and Northern Cyprus is the Turkish

Well, we sent a crack team to check out a selection of luxury hotels along the Black Sea coast…(it’s a difficult job, but hey, someone has to do it!). This is what they came back with…
First, let’s define luxury. Of course one person’s idea of luxury isn’t the same as someone else’s, but generally we would say a luxury hotel

Let’s talk Glorious Golden Sands!
A fabulous beach resort in the north of Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.
Golden Sands is a wonderful beach resort located 25kms from Varna on the beautiful Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. Varna is Bulgaria’s ‘second’ city and Golden Sands is actually the second largest beach resort in Bulgaria, after Sunny Beach. As you would expect it has a long sandy beach, but hey, all beach resorts in Bulgaria have a long sandy beach! But what people like about Golden Sands is the nice relaxed atmosphere. You can wander along the promenade that stretches from one end of the beach to the other,

Bansko is a town in south west Bulgaria located at the foot of the Pirin Mountain, 925 metres above sea level rising to 2746 metres at the top of Todorka, the highest peak in Bansko. Bansko is an actual town where people live, work and go to school, this is very different from Borovets (our other featured ski resort in Bulgaria), which is a purpose built ski resort.
That Bansko is an actual town adds to it charm. You can ski during the day and then head into the old town at night for a few drinks or a meal at one of Bansko’s ‘Mehanas’, a traditional style Bulgarian restaurant serving authentic and local food and
