Poiana Brasov's ski center has 12kms of marked ski runs and 9kms of cross country tracks that are all well maintained. The ski runs are serviced by a compact lift system made up of 2 cable cars, 1 gondola and 7 drag lifts. It's Olympic ski-track and 12 downhill and slalom runs are popular with all skiers, while the 2, 80 metre high ski jumps are less popular with participants although popular with onlookers watching the skillful few showing off their talents. With snow cannons working from autumn through to spring, skiers and snowboarders are always guaranteed snow. With the lower slopes floodlit until 21.00, skiers and snowboarders will enjoy the chance to ski at night, which is still a rare treat across Europe's slopes.
