Originally established at the end of the last century as a hunting place for the Bulgarian Kings, Borovets is an excellent resort consisting of modern hotels and chalets, surrounded by beautifully smelling forests of spruce and white pine. Located in the highest mountain on the Balkan peninsula – Rila, the resort of Borovets is a popular destinations. There are some glorious mountain walks around Borovets, spectacular views and the cleanest, crispiest air.
