New Adria Airways Service To Ljubljana, Slovenia

Celebration of new flights to Slovenia from London Luton Airport

Yesterday marked a special date for London Luton Airport as Slovenia’s national flag carrier, Adria Airways, together with the Slovenian Tourist Board and Slovenian Embassy held a trade launch event at the Airport. 

The Star Alliance member announced to the attending media and invited guests the new service which will see a 135 seat Airbus 319 operating in a two-class configuration. Services will operate four times per week from London Luton to Ljubljana commencing Sunday 25th March 2012. This exciting new service will open up new trade and tourist routes between Luton, the South East of England and the Slovenian capital.

Airport Managing Director, Glyn Jones, said “We are delighted that Adria Airways will shortly commence services. With convenient flight times, quality onboard service and competitive fares we are sure the Ljubljana flights with Adria Airways will be a great success.”

Ambassador of Slovenia to the UK, HE Mr Iztok Jarc stated: “We are delighted that the Slovenian national carrier is back in the UK market. Slovenia has always been a popular destination for the British, and the European Capital of Culture held in Maribor raises additional interest to British guests.” Jarc also noted the importance of London as one of the most important centres for business deals in the world.

Ljubljana airport lies in central Slovenia and is just 16 miles from the centre of Ljubljana, it is 21 miles to Lake Bled and 80 miles to Maribor – 2012 Capital of Culture, and only 15 miles from the nearest (and one of the country’s favourite) ski resort Krvavec.
