There’s Lots to Do on Bulgaria’s Black Sea Coast…
11 Jan 2024

We all look for something different from our holidays, some of us like to relax by the pool or on the beach, some like to explore the local area, or perhaps a bit of both. Whatever you like to do Bulgaria can accommodate you, that’s the beauty of this wonderful country. Your accommodation is also very important and this is where Bulgaria scores highly as there is such a wide choice, more of that later! The largest resort in Bulgaria is Sunny Beach. It is a big resort with so much to do, so how about starting the day with a trip to the beautiful sandy beach? Here you can hire a parasol and a sun lounger or you can find a space where you lay your towel on the sand and enjoy the beach and the sunshine, for free! But do take a refreshing dip in the sea to cool yourself down. After a few hours enjoying the beach it’s a good idea to come out of the sun and find somewhere to have a nice slow lunch. Sunny Beach has lots of restaurants serving all sorts of food including pizza, chicken, burgers and also traditional Bulgaria food, which is delicious. It’s nice to relax for an hour or so in the shade while enjoying a nice lunch. Remember the prices in Bulgaria are low, you can enjoy lunch for two with drinks for around 30 lev, which is about £15. After lunch it’s time to head back to the beach to top up your tan!The next day you might want to do something diffenret so how about treating yourself to a spa day? Many Hotels here have spas and you’ll emerge a new person feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated. Plus, the prices are much lower than back in the UK or other European resorts. You’ve had two days full of relaxation so how about seeing some of the local area? Well a trip to Nessebar is a must. This quaint and charming town is just two miles round the bay from Sunny Beach, you can walk along the beach or you can catch a bus, taxi or even a boat. Nessebar is a UNESCO Heritage Site due to its historic buildings and as you walk the cobbled streets past the wooden gabled houses you really feel like you’re stepping back in time. Then you can enjoy a coffee and ice cream as you watch the world go by or you can enjoy lunch while looking out across the Black Sea.So, we’ve done a day on the beach, a spa day and a day sightseeing, let’s have a day on the beach and chill out before we do something special the next day. How about an excursion? We offer a variety of trips from a day at one of the water parks, a trip to Sozopol (a lovely town on the coast about an hour from Sunny Beach), a trip to Bourgas or a full day trip to a local Bulgarian village and the Blue Mountains? Here you will get a taste of the real Bulgaria. We also offer a guided tour of Nessebar which will show you all that this beautiful town has to offer plus you’ll learn all about its somewhat turbulent history. What about when the sun goes down? Well a trip to Khans Tent is a must! You’ll have a lovely 3 course dinner with wine and a show that will have you on the edge of your seat, it is well worth a visit and even the live band will have you up and dancing, or is that the wine you had with your dinner?!Lastly, we have to mention the huge choice of hotels on offer. They range from exceptional value for money 2 star hotels, 3 star family run hotels with a real local flavour and a very warm welcome to high quality and luxurious 4 and 5 star hotels with all sorts of facilities including their own aqua park!Whatever your preference and budget Bulgaria and Balkan Holidays has a holiday for you.
