Borosport Competition 27th - 28th January
Borovets is one of the three main ski resorts in Bulgaria. This annual Borosport Cup is organised by the Bulgarian Ski Federation on the Popangelov slope of this and features the top Slalom and Giant Slalom racers from all countries on the Balkan Peninsula. This is a great opportunity to watch the best skiers from the region adding to the atmosphere of this lively resort.

Borovets Increases Snow Cannon Coverage
One of the featured ski resorts by Balkan Holidays has installed more artificial snowmaking systems this season. Borovets have installed additional snow cannons on the ski areas of Yastrebets, Sitnayakovo and Markudjik along with a new snow retention system. A new reservoir with a capacity of 30,000 cubic metres, will supply water directly to the snow cannons. Borosport Director, Nelly Sandalska, has informed Balkan Holidays: "This allows for perfect snowmaking and maintaining of more than 200,000 square metres of ski runs." Bansko builds the largest platform in Bulgaria
It has now been announced that the Bulgarian Ski Federation of Bansko has received the trust and support of the International Ski Federation to conduct a special race for the World Cup next year 2011 which will be located on the Banderitsa track in Bansko on the 26th and 27th of February. For this special occasion, Bansko will have built a stand for just over 5 thousand people. The plan is: on the first day the best skiers from around the world will compete in the discipline super-combined and super-giant slalom at around 10:00am & another slalom run will start later in the day at around t 13:00pm. Bulgaria Opens the Most shopping Malls in Europe
Some may find it unbelievable but it is true - Bulgaria has been ranked number one in the European Union based on the number of new shopping malls that have opened in the first half of 2010. This was reported by the Cushman and Wakefield consultancy. Burgas Airport Welcomes Millionth Passenger for 2010
Every year Bourgas Airport in Bulgaria announces its millionth passenger and for 2010 it was Eileen Nischik, who happily arrived at Burgas Airport on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast from her home town Cologne in Germany, and found out at the airport that she is in fact the one-millionth passenger for 2010. The 23 years old German was travelling with her partner Torsten Dormann and visiting Bulgaria to spend 7 days in Obzor, one of Bulgaria's black sea resorts. Bulgaria Holidays cheaper than holidays to Brighton
British tourists should be aware that holidaying in the UK can be pricier than going away to Europe and specificity Bulgaria. It is cheaper to go away to Bulgaria than stay on a Sussex coast at Brighton this summer, the survey by Tesco Travel Money found.
