We like our blogs to be on all sorts of different topics that are useful for our guests. For example we’ve written about what to pack for a skiing holiday, what you can do away from the slopes or we go into more details about the different resorts such as Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo in Bulgaria and Kranjska Gora, Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj in Slovenia.

This week we thought we would take a look a look at skiing in Slovenia. It really is a beautiful setting for a skiing and boarding holiday. There are several resorts offering beautiful views of the Julian Alps, of serene lakes and even hilltop castles, real fairytale stuff!

The Julian Alps
The Julian Alps, named after Roman emperor Julius Caesar, is a mountain range covering parts of Northern Italy and mainly Slovenia. It contains the highest peak of Slovenia, Triglav, at 2864m, which is also the symbol of Slovenia.
A large area within mountain range, containing a number of peaks above 2000m, belongs to Triglav National Park. High mountain hikers can found shelter in a plenty of lodges, and an extensive network of trekking paths helps their way. Celebration of new flights to Slovenia from London Luton Airport
Yesterday marked a special date for London Luton Airport as Slovenia’s national flag carrier, Adria Airways, together with the Slovenian Tourist Board and Slovenian Embassy held a trade launch event at the Airport.
The Star Alliance member announced to the attending media and invited guests the new service which will see a 135 seat Airbus 319 operating in a two-class configuration.
