Preparation for a ski/board trip is key. This is especially true if you are a beginner, as there will be many falls (on soft snow!), and lots of physical demands, such as carrying skis. So, to get most enjoyment out of your trip, the best advice is to prepare your body for a week on the slopes.
One of the key challenges is the strain put on your thighs as you ski. After a day many will find their legs complaining and shaking, and you can avoid this by being prepared. Core stability is also key, for balance, for a good ski posture, and to get up when you fall.

Summer Balkan Holidays Lead-In Price of £199 per person

Specialist tour operator Balkan Holidays have released their new range for 2020, with lead-in prices held at £199* per person. The programme has been expanded to include trips to the lakes and mountains of Slovenia and a new hold luggage allowance of 22kg is included on charter flights.
In response to guest feedback, the operator has increased its free luggage allowance to 22kg hold luggage and 10kg hand luggage for its charter flights.

ABTA (The Association of British Travel Agents) has today launched a combined PR and Marketing campaign called “ABTA Early Bird” which will be aimed at encouraging British consumers to book their holidays early and to book with an ABTA member (such as Balkan Holidays).
The week-long campaign will include advertising, PR and social media activity as well as a dedicated “ABTA Early Bird” page on the ABTA website which will feature advice on booking early; a new interactive web tool providing destination inspiration and an embedded twitter feed from ABTA and its membership offering tips and deals.

1. UK indoor ski slopes
It’s very worthwhile to book lessons at an indoor slope. There are different sorts of slopes, from very old and decrepit to new and pristine.
Highly recommended is a trip to a ‘real snow’ slope, where snow is made and the temperature is kept low.

Is this an expensive hobby? Well, it’s certainly more expensive than knitting or running. But as with all things, you can pay a little or a lot. You might compare a week in Romania skiing with a week in Japan, and you will guess that there’s a clear difference.

Following the extention of the deadline in their unilateral contigency legislation released today, the EU have confirmed that UK airlines will still be able to operate flights between the UK and the EU until at least October next year.
The deadline for this contigency was set for March 2020 under the previous legislation however this new extention will now allow customers to book their travel further in advance with confidence that flight schedules will not be affected ABTA confirmed.
