One of the featured ski resorts by Balkan Holidays has installed more artificial snowmaking systems this season. Borovets have installed additional snow cannons on the ski areas of Yastrebets, Sitnayakovo and Markudjik along with a new snow retention system. A new reservoir with a capacity of 30,000 cubic metres, will supply water directly to the snow cannons. Borosport Director, Nelly Sandalska, has informed Balkan Holidays: "This allows for perfect snowmaking and maintaining of more than 200,000 square metres of ski runs." It has now been announced that the Bulgarian Ski Federation of Bansko has received the trust and support of the International Ski Federation to conduct a special race for the World Cup next year 2011 which will be located on the Banderitsa track in Bansko on the 26th and 27th of February. For this special occasion, Bansko will have built a stand for just over 5 thousand people.
