Passengers Advised to Keep Devices Charged
All passengers flying into or out of the UK have been advised to ensure electronic devices in hand luggage are sufficiently charged to be switched on. The Department for Transport have said there could be checks "on some routes into or out of the UK" but did not disclose which routes were involved. The advice has already been applied on selected flights from the UK to the US. ABTA Reporting Increase In Ski Helmet Use
With the February half-term just around the corner, ABTA have reported that British skiers and snowboarders are more likely to wear a helmet on the slopes than ever before. The February half-term is usually one of the busiest ski weeks in European resorts and with approximately one million Brits going skiing this season, ABTA Members are seeing increased interest from people in safety equipment, both to hire and to purchase. ABTA has said more holidaymakers are planning to take a winter sports holiday this season, but the number of holidaymakers planning to travel without insurance has risen alarmingly. Research conducted by ABTA showed that 15% of those taking a winter holiday are planning to go skiing or boarding, a rise of 10% from last year. However, 36% will go skiing or boarding without the necessary winter sports insurance, up from 30% last year. The figures for under 35's are even more disturbing with nearly half (47%) saying they weren't going to bother taking out insurance for their holiday. ABTA head of communications Victoria Bacon

Please be aware that from the 30th April 2013 all EasyJet check in will be done online, not at the airport. As it is quick and easy, it will save you unnecessary time in queues at the airport. If you're travelling with a cabin bag only, you will be able to go straight to airport security and departure area when you arrive at the airport. If you have hold luggage, you can simply drop it off at one of the new Bag Drop desks which will be replacing the Check In desks. Following on from last year’s highly successful campaign to help reduce the number of traveller accidents and incidents associated with ski and snow holidays, ABTA have re-launched the Get Fit for Ski campaign, with some updated ski related guidance and tools to help prepare holidaymakers for hitting the slopes. This includes a safety leaflet called “How to Have a Safe and Healthy Holiday in the Snow“, a “Get Fit for Ski” fact sheet which features a series of recommended exercises with advice on stretching techniques and a dedicated website page on ABTA.com which includes the leaflet, factsheet and some video

A summer to remember
After an unforgettable winter season with record snowfall in Bulgaria, it looks like this summer season will be leaving it's mark in the history books too. Yesterday alone (August 7, 2012), saw a total of 37 temperature records in Bulgaria, the National Meteorology and Hydrology Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has announced. The warmest place in the country was the Danube city of Ruse with a scorching 41,9C.! The thermometers in Bourgas showed the hottest 7th of August since 1912,  with a record breaking 36,5C. Varna beat it's 1963 record and set a new one of 34,6C. The water temperature is around

First Day Tips for your Bulgaria Holidays
